It does have a form of offline capabilities - if you install google gears in your browser you can enable it. Check out this for more info:  http://www.google.com/help/reader/offline.html

		<description>I use Google Reader. I have tried several feed readers both on the computer and iPhone. I keep going back to Google Reader. Mainly because I can access it from my work/home computer and my phone without rereading feeds. Makes it easy. Especially with over 100 feeds I check daily.</description>
