Writing Is A Hard Grace

George Guthrie has a great post on the discipline and realities of writing. Take note all you aspiring writers. The romantic feelings you have now will soon fade. I especially appreciated these words:

Writing is hard, not for the faint of heart; only the called should enter the dark room with blank walls.  But for many of us it is also a calling, a discipline, a form of discipleship and ministry that takes our voices far beyond a geography we can get to with our feet.  It is joy born in pain, fitful, hopefully fruitful, an easy yoke but a yoke nonetheless.  Writing is important, both for what it does to us and what it does for others.  Writing is necessary, for through it Christ speaks out of our hearts, minds, and finger tips into needful places.  Writing is a hard grace.
