This set will surely not disappoint anyone who enjoys the works of the Puritans and has benefited from their writings.

Sale on New Studies in Biblical Theology Series

Westminster Bookstore has a great deal on the New Studies in Biblical Theology series which is edited by D.A. Carson. It is a solid series that covers a wide range of theological themes within Scripture. You will be hard pressed to find a series of books that accomplishes what the NSBT does. As you can imagine, you save more money as you purchase more volumes within the set. Each individual volume is 40% off. The discount goes up to 50% by purchasing 5 or more volumes and 52% by purchasing the entire set (26 volumes). I believe that this set of books will be a great help to the church for many years.

Sale Summary

Sale on The Battle Belongs to the Lord

A promising new book on Christian apologetics has been released by K. Scott Oliphant called The Battle Belongs to the Lord: The Power of Scripture for Defending the Faith. Westminster Bookstore has it on sale for a ridiculously low price of $5 until June 1st. It looks to be a good resource for encouraging and equipping believers in defending the Christian faith. Here are a couple of endorsements for the book.

“Most of us who want to be faithful witnesses know we need—but often lack—three things: a clear understanding of the truth, the ability to express our message persuasively, and confidence that the gospel has nothing to fear in the intellectual market place. As a skilled seminary professor who has also served in the trenches of pastoral and evangelistic ministry, Dr. Oliphint is well qualified to give us just the help we need.”Sinclair B. Ferguson, Distinguished Visiting Professor of Systematic Theology at Westminster Theological Seminary

“Many think that we should leave our Bibles at home when we engage in apologetics, that we should reason with unbelievers only on the basis of “common ground.” Scott Oliphint, to the contrary, rightly emphasizes that the Christian can never set his Bible aside, for Scripture sets the standards for everything we do, including apologetics.”John Frame, Reformed Theological Seminary, Florida

Reformed Expository Commentaries on Sale

Westminster Bookstore has a one week sale on the Reformed Expository Commentary Series that you should jump on if you are in the market for some solid commentaries. You can take advantage in three ways. Buy a single volume and get 45% off. Buy three or more volumes and get 50%. And if you buy the entire set then you’ll get 52% off. As you can see, the more you buy means the more you save.

Sale on The Gospel Commission

I promise that I will eventually get around to posting more than book deals and such. However, Michael Horton’s new book The Gospel Commission: Recovering God’s Strategy for Making Disciples is on sale at Westminster Bookstore at 50% off your first copy and 40% off all additional copies. The sale runs through tomorrow so be sure to order your copies quickly. Horton is a solid theologian and clear writer so you will undoubtedly benefit from this book. Here’s a brief description:

Many churches in America today want to be powerful, relevant, and influential in personal and social transformation. A plethora of programs for outreach, discipleship, and spiritual disciplines are available at any bookstore and on countless websites. Yet what we need most is a renewed understanding of and commitment to the Great Commission. We assume that we already know the nature of this commission and the appropriate methods of carrying it out.

But Michael Horton contends that it too often becomes our mission instead of God’s. At a time when churches are zealously engaged in creating mission statements and strategic plans, he argues that we must ask ourselves anew whether we are ambassadors, following the script we’ve been given, or building our own kingdoms with our own blueprint.

Also…Westminster has extended the sale on Thriving at College until tomorrow. If you’re still interested in that book but missed the original deadline for the deal then here is your second chance.
